Alright to the world... it has been a CRAZY summer... apparently everyone decided to get married all in the same year... and well everything went down the tubes... but i have come back with a vengence...
I am now currently looking into another product from the makers of the P90X system... called 10 minute trainer... everything that i have found seems promising... all of the reviews say it is tough... but very doable (who doesnt have 10 minutes to do a quick workout?? ) this seems as though it may be perfect for me...
I have unfortunatly not been doing much of my running... took the summer off... but that will be kicking into HIGH gear come september when i begin training for the goofy marathon in florida... but i need to get started asap with fitness... now i dont have the devil over me telling me to do things... its tough (shout out to you devil lady... you know who you are)... but this could be the motivation that i need... that and the natural pig headedness (is that a word) that was lovingly bestowed upon me from my family.... So ... where in ottawa do i find this system... the search begins... i will let everyone know once i find it.... it better be soon ;)

OOPSY
Ok so last week was a bit of a bust... I did keep up my running... but not so much on the P90X... so i have decided to add an extra week for phase one... there is of course a good excuse... ... I unfortunatly had a TON of work this week... and quite literally barely slept... sooooo... we are off to the races again... and started once again with chest and back... ouchy...

And week 2 begins...
So I have made it through my first week... and on to week 2... i may hurt a little all over... but it is a good hurt... today was back to chest and back... i must say... i HATE pushups... and guess what... there are a ton of them in this video... lots and lots and lots of push ups... standard... wide fly,.... decline... military... diamond... yeah... WTF... and for those of you that know the fat kid here... I DONT DO PUSH UPS... but oh well... i did as much as i could... "do your best and forget the rest" as they say in the videos... so thats what i did... did a few up on my toes (yay me) and the rest on my knees... the great thing about this program is that you do it till you cant do anymore... not putting a specific number... you are supposed to have a goal in mind... but if you dont make that its ok... and if you surpass that ... its even better... so yeah :) it is working well... the chest and back is a good workout... the resistance bands are good... and man do they give a great workout... may have to get a really big resistance... the most i have is a 40 pound... oh well... off to work i go... tomorrow... plyometrics... and a run with my running group... off we go

Had a day off... and back to it today
So yesterday was the day of rest... to hell with resting on sundays..... I took yesterday off as i dont really need much more work on my legs... they are good :D and sunday is a long slow distance run... but what was on the menu for today...??? KENPO... did i feel like an idiot... yes... did i have fun... yes... did i break a sweat... yes... but the real question... did i feel a great cardio workout?? sorry to say no... but i have to admit it was a fun time... so i will give it a thumbs up... my cardio is good enough to run half marathons... I laughed... i dont think that is what they want but hey... whatever :D i do what i want... So what is kenpo??? its punching kicking and blocking... it was interesting... i will admit... i didnt do the yelling part... but still had a blast... i would recommend doing it for a light workout... and to have some fun

yoga is not for wimps
So today... Yoga x...
and to those who say that yoga is easy... you havent done it right... This is an intense hour and a half of yoga... planks into upward dog between moves... and constant motion... slow... and holding... So needless to say... i am soaked in sweat... but feel energized and centered... and glad to make it through that... had to take some rests as it was messing with my ankle and upper back... but today was just yoga... so off to the showers... and to get some food...

Guess what I learned ?!?!?
Alright... so today was the end of my work week... but i had some training and then off to instruct my running group... so a 4 km run... and guess what... its back home for another p90x hell hour...
Today was shoulders and arms and ab ripper x...
shoulders and arms felt GREAT... got the burn... will have to try some heavier weight... but it was awesome...
and ab ripper x... taught me i have NO ABDOMINAL MUSCLES... thats right... who knows how i stand straight... there are no abs there to support me... and if there ever were... they are now gone... crap...
well i need a shower... i feel gross... lots of workout today... tomorrow is going to be something simpler... no running involved :)

And the torture continues
So here i am again... and today was a real test of my commitment to this thing... I am an overnight awake worker here... so after work... popped in the dvd for the day... Lovely plyometrics... which if some of you dont know... is ALOT of jumping... lunges and squats... but mostly... JUMPING... so I live in an apartment... who felt like a very mean person... ME... going to be doing that workout down in the gym of my building from now on... got caught up on the chair only once... which really is something special all on its own... and i am pretty sure this workout is designed to make you look as stupid as possible... but hey... if it works it works... also i am a running instructor so to top it off... i had to take my group out for a 4 km run... doesnt sound so bad right...... WRONG... hurt lol... oh well... off to work for me... i will try to keep blogging as much as possible...

DAY 1
SON OF A B*TCH...
Ok so now that that is out of the way...
Today was chest and back... and what they refer to as ab ripper x... the back and chest wasnt all that bad... I have however learned that I have NO ab muscles... guess this will be fixed at the end of the 90 days...
Went and got the stuff to follow the diet plan... made some awesome soups.. SOOO TASTY... who knew cucumber soup would be tasty :P
So not a whole lot to say... tomorrow is 2 workouts... so i will let you know what happens...

And so it begins
Alright... so I doubt people will follow this... but hey... lets see :P
So a bit about me... i am 23... almost 24... and up until november 2008... i was completely inactive... i am talking my only sport was changing channels...and was a smoker for a number of years... bad eating habits... THE WORKS.. I then got roped in to running (started with the thought that i would run a 5k distance for the run for the cure) and a friend of mine dragged me out to the running room and havent looked back... I have now ran a few 5 km races... a 10km race and a half marathon... all of this with the running room... and the amazing help of a personal trainer that I lovingly refer to as the devil.... (Shout out to mia) ...
So last week.... the girls at work and I were having our breakfast.. and a certain someone mentioned that a group of them were going to do a little challenge.... so I got intrigued... and well got in on the fun... so as of MONDAY... we will be doing the p90x program...
I have done the fitness test... and (according to the minimums) I should be able to do this... now I am skeptical... because well... as the title says... I am not exactly a fitness guru... My cardio is pretty good... not so much on the strength... ..
SO here we go on this journey... lets see what will happen ...
(ps.. I do have the before measurements and the before photos... NO ONE is seeing those yet... )
I will write again as soon as i can...
